Haj Medical Assessment and Certificate in Singapore
If you’re preparing for Haj, one of the first steps after receiving your Letter of Intent from MUIS is to complete your Haj Medical Assessment and obtain a Medical Health Certificate. This is a mandatory requirement by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (MOHU), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
At Prologue Lifestyle Medical Clinic, we make the Haj Medical Assessment quick and hassle-free, with short waiting times (confirmation in 24 hours) and an efficient process – ensuring you complete your assessment in time to proceed with your Hajj application and visa.
The assessment and medical certificate costs $50, including GST.
- The KSA now requires all prospective pilgrims to obtain a valid Medical Health Certificate confirming they are medically fit, free from disqualifying chronic conditions and capable of performing Hajj rituals.
- Applicants must complete the assessment and submit the results by 21 November 2025.
- The list of disqualifying conditions now includes major organ failure (e.g., renal failure requiring dialysis), severe neurological/psychiatric disorders, advanced pregnancy, active infectious diseases (e.g., TB), dependency on wheelchair/human assistance.
- A Haj visa will not be issued unless the Medical Health Certificate requirement is fulfilled.

Visit our doctor for an in-person consultation. Our doctor will review your chronic medical conditions and assess your physical ability to safely perform Hajj rituals.
Step 2: Online Medical Checklist
Our doctor will complete the compulsory online Medical Assessment Checklist.
The results are submitted directly to MUIS for verification.
Step 3: Issuance of Medical Health Certificate
After completing the assessment, our doctor will issue your Medical Health Certificate, indicating whether you are medically fit to perform Haj.
To make your appointment smooth and efficient, bring along:
- Your NRIC and Letter of Intent from MUIS
- List of your current medications
- Relevant medical and blood test reports (if any)
The Haj journey can involve:
- Walking 5–20 km daily
- Standing for prolonged periods
- Enduring temperatures of 40–45°C
- Navigating through dense crowds
To ensure all pilgrims can perform Hajj safely, Saudi authorities now require every applicant to be medically cleared before a visa can be issued.
Without a valid Haj Medical Certificate, your Haj application will not progress – even if you’ve received a Letter of Intent from MUIS. It is advised to complete your assessment by 21 November 2025.

FAQ
What is a Haj Medical Assessment?
The Haj Medical Assessment is an in-person medical evaluation required for all Singaporean pilgrims intending to perform Hajj. It assesses your overall health, existing medical conditions, and physical fitness to safely undertake the physically demanding pilgrimage. For accuracy, it is recommended that you visit their regular doctor who is familiar with their health history.
Why do I need a Haj Medical Health Certificate?
The certificate ensures your safety during Haj and confirms that you can manage the physical demands of the pilgrimage. It is also required to process your Haj visa.
Can I get my Haj Medical Health Certificate via teleconsultation?
No. The Haj Medical Health Certificate requires a physical, in-person examination conducted by a licensed doctor. Virtual consultations are not accepted.
Will conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure disqualify me from Haj?
Common chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), or high cholesterol do not automatically disqualify you, as long as they are well-managed and controlled. Ensure proper medication, regular monitoring, and follow-up with your doctor before the pilgrimage, and always declare your conditions truthfully during the medical examination for safety and medical assistance purposes during Haj.
What conditions disqualify me from Haj?
Some medical conditions may automatically make an applicant medically unfit for Hajj due to safety concerns:
- Major organ failure (e.g., renal failure requiring dialysis, cardiac failure, advanced liver cirrhosis)
- Severe neuro/psychiatric disorders affecting cognition or mobility
- Advanced or high-risk pregnancy (especially in the final trimester)
- Active infectious diseases (e.g., tuberculosis, viral hemorrhagic fevers)
- Dependence on a wheelchair, scooter, or requiring constant human assistance
What if I am deemed medically unfit?
Our doctor will explain the reason and guide you on steps to improve your health before reapplying for your Hajj Medical Health Certificate. You are advised to defer your Hajj until your health improves. Log in to the MyHajSG portal and select “I Wish to Defer” or “I Wish to Cancel”.
What happens if my health condition changes after certification?
If your health changes after being certified as medically fit, you must inform MUIS immediately. A reassessment may be required to confirm continued fitness for Hajj.
Does completing the assessment guarantee I will be selected for Haj 2026?
No. Selection depends on your position in the Hajj registration queue. Successful applicants will receive their Letter of Offer from 1 December 2025 onwards via MyHajSG portal.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Failure to complete the Haj Medical Assessment by 21 November 2025 will result in your application not being considered for Hajj 2026 (1447H). Applicants are encouraged to plan early to avoid disappointment. In exceptional circumstances, MUIS may consider extending the deadline.
How much does the Haj Medical Assessment cost?
At Prologue The Lifestyle Medical Clinic, the assessment is priced at $50 (inclusive of GST).
