What is Screen for Life?

Screen for Life is Singapore’s national health screening programme by the Health Promotion Board, providing subsidised screenings for common chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Screen for Life Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Screen for Life subsidies depends on your age, gender, and medical history. Women who meet the following criteria can access subsidised screenings:

Date of Last Screening:

  • Breast cancer – Every two years since your last mammogram.
  • Cardiovascular risk – Every three years since your previous screening.
  • Cervical cancer – Every three years since your previous Pap test or five years since the last HPV test.
  • Colorectal cancer – Every year since your last screening with FIT.

Existing Health Conditions:

  • Individuals with chronic diseases or certain cancers (cervical/colorectal) may be eligible for further subsidies.

Breast cancer screening services under Screen for Life are offered at selected polyclinics at these rates: $25 for PG, $37.50 for MG, $50 for Singapore Citizens and $75 for Permanent Residents.

For Healthier SG (HSG)-enrolled Singapore Citizens, nationally-recommended screening under Screen for Life will be fully subsidised at their enrolled HSG clinic.

  1. Find out which screenings you are due for by logging in with SingPass.
  2. Locate a participating CHAS Clinic and make an appointment.

What is Screen for Life?

Screen for Life is Singapore’s national screening programme, initiated by the Health Promotion Board (HPB), to encourage Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents to undergo regular health screenings and follow-ups to detect chronic conditions and cancers early.

Eligible individuals can access subsidised screenings for cardiovascular disease, cervical cancer, and colorectal cancer at a fixed fee of $5 or less, which also covers one follow-up consultation if needed. These services are available at CHAS-accredited clinics.

The subsidy covers the screening test(s) and the doctor’s consultation fee, including the first post-screening consultation if required. An additional fixed fee applies if the screening tests are conducted on a separate visit.

Screening detects conditions early, leading to timely treatment and better long-term health management.

Yes, please book an appointment at a participating CHAS clinic (like us) to ensure availability and a smooth screening process.

Bring your NRIC and, if applicable, your CHAS, Merdeka Generation (MG), Pioneer Generation (PG), or Public Assistance (PA) card to qualify for subsidised rates.

Yes. If you are aged 18-39 and identified as ‘at higher risk’ for diabetes after a Diabetes Risk Assessment, you qualify for subsidised cardiovascular screening. Women aged 25+ may also receive subsidised cervical cancer screenings.
